Haley’s Bridal Portraits at Laceê Meadows

Some bridal portrait sessions feel extra magical from the very beginning—and Haley’s bridal portraits at Laceê Meadows was exactly that.

A summer thunderstorm rolled in just as we began, but instead of ruining our plans, it created the most incredible light. The sun was still shining through the clouds as the rain fell outside, filling the carriage house windows with the softest glow. It made for one of those moments you simply can’t plan—but when it happens, it feels like everything came together exactly the way it was meant to.

When a Summer Storm Creates the Dreamiest Light

We began the session inside the beautiful carriage house at Laceê Meadows while the rain passed through. The light pouring through the large windows was absolutely stunning—soft, golden, and glowing in a way that only happens during a summer storm.

One of the most special images from the session was taken right in front of the window. Behind Haley, you could see the exact spot where she and Cole would later say their vows. It felt so intentional and meaningful, like a quiet preview of the moment their wedding day would hold.

These are the kinds of details that make bridal portraits so special—capturing not just the dress, but the story behind the day to come.

A Wedding Dress Moment: Haley’s Removable Train

Haley’s dress truly had its moment during her portraits.

Her gown featured a removable train that completely transformed the look, almost like having two dresses in one. With the train attached, the gown felt dramatic and elegant, creating the most beautiful movement in photos. Without, it was so classy and sophisticated. Who doesn’t want the best of both worlds, right?!

But to be totally honest, the train was the whole moment!

Watching it flow behind her as she moved through the venue was breathtaking. Every angle felt like something straight out of a bridal editorial, and Haley carried it with such grace and confidence.

She truly was the star of the show.

Sweet Moments with Family

One of the things that made this session even more meaningful was having Haley’s family there with us.

Her mom and little sister were by her side helping with every dress adjustment and veil placement, making sure everything was just right. Bridal portraits often become such a sweet memory not just for the bride, but for the people closest to her as well.

And at one point, Haley’s grandparents made a surprise appearance—which was such a special and heartfelt moment to witness. Seeing their excitement and pride added an extra layer of sweetness to the entire afternoon.

These little moments are exactly what make sessions like this feel so personal.

Why Bridal Portrait Timing Matters

One of the best parts about Haley’s bridal session was the timing.

Because we scheduled her portraits during the same season as her wedding, the venue looked almost identical to how it would on the actual wedding day. The greenery, the light, and the overall feel of the property matched perfectly.

This makes bridal portraits even more meaningful, because the images feel seamlessly connected to the wedding day itself.

It’s also such a wonderful opportunity for brides to fully enjoy wearing their dress without the time pressures of a wedding timeline.
