This rainy spring wedding at Rocky River Plantation will forever go down as one of my all-time favorites. From start to finish, it was a true reminder that the most beautiful weddings aren’t about perfect weather — they’re about incredible people, meaningful details, and a whole lot of love.

Thoughtful Wedding Details & an Incredible Vendor Team

First, I have to give so much credit to the amazing team of vendors who came together and made everything happen so seamlessly. Every single detail was thoughtfully planned and beautifully executed. From colorful florals and soft linens to a live band that kept the reception energy high, nothing was overlooked. The clear umbrellas for the bridal party were both practical and adorable, and the live painter — a gift from Lilly’s best friends — added the sweetest, most personal touch. Every part of the day felt intentional and full of heart.

A Romantic Rainy Ceremony

Tripp and Lilly were married on the front steps, nestled together under an umbrella as the rain fell around them. It was intimate, emotional, and absolutely breathtaking. Later, they danced the night away under a tent tucked beneath the trees, surrounded by twinkle lights, and the people who love them most. I never knew I could love rain on a wedding day quite so much — but this day completely changed my mind.

Right after the ceremony we were blessed with the slightest break in the weather and it gave us the most epic window for bride and groom portraits. The light, the clouds, and the field created the dreamiest backdrop.

A Celebration Full of Love, Faith, and Joy

What made this weekend truly unforgettable was Tripp and Lilly themselves. They are two of the kindest, most thoughtful people you will ever meet. They are deeply loved by their families and friends, and it shows in every interaction. After spending the entire weekend with them, I genuinely felt like family by the time I left.

This wedding weekend was overflowing with joy, love, and the Lord’s grace. It was a beautiful reminder that when your foundation is strong, nothing — not even a storm — can take away from the love.
